PM inspects Central Expressway work

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa inspected construction work on the second stage of the Central Expressway this morning.

The second stage of the Expressway begins from Mirigama and ends in Kurunegala, a stretch of 40 kilometres.

According to Roads, Highways, Ports and Shipping Ministry sources, the Premier began the inspection tour at Riloluwa in Mirigama on the invitation of Highways Minister Johnston Fernando.

The Central Expressway is being built connecting the Colombo city with Kandy and Dambulla to spur the country’s economy.
