VTA, Wurth to launch free training course

The Vocational Training Authority of Sri Lanka and the Wurth Lanka Limited, a subsidiary of the Wurth Group in Germany, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) yesterday (18) at the Wurth Lanka Homagama Branch to provide vocational training for 100 Sri Lankan youth.

Vocational Training Authority Chairman Damith Wickremesinghe and Wurth Lanka Director Rohan Ameerthi signed the MoU.

Chairman Damith Wickremesinghe said that the project called Techniprineurs – Lanka will help produce mechanics in many fields and those needed for the building sector. The German Development Bank will support the training, he said.

The instructors of the Vocational Training Authority too will provide the training. The project will cost 60 million rupees, he said.

Sri Lanka Commercial and Industrial Head of the Wurth Group Andrews Hergenroether and Geeth Balasuriya from the German Development Bank participated.
