EDB Webinar on understanding new regulations on temporary suspension of importations

The Sri Lanka Export Development Board will host a webinar on understanding new regulations on temporary suspension of importations at the EDB premises June 19 ( tomorrow) from 10 am to 11 am.

The webinar will also centre around the interim measures taken for strengthening and reviving the national economy during the COVID 19 pandemic.

This is a sequel to the regulations which have been issued by the Government for reviving the national economy during the COVID 19 pandemic health quarantine process to control the to control non- essential import goods in alleviate the pressures on the exchange rate and the stress on financial markets, an EDB spokesman told Daily News Finance yesterday.

The speakers at this important event would be Import and Export Control Department’s Controller General Damayanthi Karunaratne, Import and Export Control Department’s Controller Ranjith Wimalasooriya, Sri Lanka Customs Director Gamini Jayawardena and Deputy Director Tilak Arummaperuma. Officials of the Ministry of Finance and the Board of Investment will also participate.

This webinar will be targeted for Direct and Indirect Exporters, Importers, Trading Companies, Trade Chambers and Associations and Government officials. Registration to the Webinar could be done via,
