Ministry facilitates life-long treatment for 39 victims

Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi has taken steps to facilitate life-long medical treatment for 39 victims of Easter Sunday suicide bomb attacks, Health Ministry Spokesman said.

Minister Wanniarachchi has made this pledge on a request made by Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith.

One hundred thirty nine of over 500 are still receiving medical treatment and 39 of them need long term special medical treatment. Some of them need life-long treatment for them to stay alive.

The fund needed in this regard will be provided from the Health Development Fund. The special treatment will be provided for the 39 patients through the Sri Jayewardenepura General Hospital. Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith Peiris thanked Minister Wanniarachchi and the staff of the Sri Jayewardenepura General Hospital.
