Donation of healthcare garments in Matale

Non-governmental organisations in collaboration with the private institutions in the Matale district donated a stock of healthcare garments worth more than Rs.200,000 for the use of healthcare workers deployed in Covid-19 treatment facilities.

Matale District Secretary S.M.G.K. Perera handed over this donation to District Health Service Director Sepalika Wickramathilaka on Monday (15) at the District Secretariat premises.

The Health Service Director expressing her appreciation for the donations called it a meritorious act.

She said that some patients who have the Covid-19 virus in their systems do not display any symptoms of the disease.

The Laggala Divisional Hospital is looking into how such patients should be treated.

District Additional Secretary (Land) Ishan Wijethilaka and the representatives of NGOs participated in the occasion.
