Third year coloursman, ,, left arm leg spinner and middle order batsman Rambukkana Arachchige Don Eran Hansamal brought honour to his Alma Mater Moratu Vidyalaya when he excelled as an all rounder claiming 77 wickets and scoring 250 runs in 14 matches and last year he captured 74 scalps in 13 matches and totalled 157 runs. During his career at Vidyalaya he has claimed 151 wickets.

Eran Hansamal

He commenced his cricket career at Royal College, Panadura and played in the under 13 for three years and played for the under 15 for another two years. In the under 17 he played only for one year and playing in the under 19 team he bagged 66 wickets. He played in the Big Match and the Limited Over match too. He was received the Best Bowler’s award by claiming 4 for 25 runs and his coach through out at Royal, Panadura was Sumith Prasanna.

Then in 2018 he joined Moratu Vidyalaya on the recommendation of Sumith Prasanna who is also an old boy of Moratu Vidyalaya and Eran came under Prasanna Dissanayake and his Principal is Hemasiri Atahudage while the Master in Charge of cricket is Rasika Chaminda. He was selected for the under 19 cricket team but only he was able to play in the Big Match and the Limited Overs Match. In the following year playing for Vidyalaya he bagged 74 wickets in 13 matches and in 2020 he captured 77 wickets and scored 250 runs. He played in two Big Matches and two Limited Over matches against their arch rivals Sri Sumangala College, Panadura and in the same year he represented Colombo South District Team. Also in last years under 23 cricket tournament organized by Sri Lanka Cricket he represented Old Moratu Vidyalians Sports Club.
