No positive patients from society for three weeks

No COVID-19 positive patient has been found from the society for the past three weeks from the first day of re-opening the country, Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi said.

According to Minister Wanniarachchi, it is the dedication of Sri Lankan health staff, the Armed Forces and people who brought the country to this victorious point. The recovery rate of Sri Lanka's COVID-19 is above 70 percent which is very high.

Meanwhile Deputy Director General (Public Health) Dr. Paba Palihawadana said that no COVID-19 social transmission had been reported from Sri Lanka and the Navy cluster has been controlled and ended successfully.

There is no possibility of COVID-19 coming to the Sri Lankan society from any entry points such as BIA, other airports and harbours. Therefore there is no way of getting COVID-19 into Sri Lanka from neighbouring countries. Sri Lanka is in a good position among other countries in the region when it comes to COVID-19, she added.
