Final MBBS exams from June 15

Dr. Bandula Gunawardhana, Minister of Higher Education, Technology, Innovation and Information & Mass Media, announced that medical faculties will commence final MBBS exams from June 15.

Other faculties will commence their final year exams from June 22 and to August 1. The Vice Chancellors of each university will announce the dates of the final year exams separately.

Senior Prof. Sampath Amarathunga said that seating and the number to be accommodated in an examination hall and at practical sessions should be in accordance with health guidelines. The universities are advised to encourage students as much as possible to enter universities to sit for the exams straight from home.

When arranging hostel accommodation, a room should be accommodated by only one student until further notice and students should leave university premises (including the Library) at least by 7pm every day until further notice.

Gatherings in the universities have been barred until further notice. Permission will not be granted to hold other recreational or sporting activities.

University administrative staff members have been asked to report to work and postgraduate research students may commence their academic work subject to health guidelines.
