Chathuranga leads President’s College

 

Chathuranga Ekanayake   

Fifth year coloursman, right hand bat, right arm off spinner and captain of Presidents College, Maharagama Chathuranga Devinda Ekanayake and his team are presently coached by Basil Dinendra and his deputy is Jineth Sachithra.

This season he scored 829 runs in 12 outings with one century and seven fifties with a top score of 141 runs versus Royal College, Horana.

Presidents College won three matches out right, two on first innings and lost four out right and lost three on first innings. He was selected to the first eleven cricket team when he was playing for the under 13 team.

He played initially in 2013 and captained in 2014. In 2015 and 2016 he played for the under 15 leading them in 2016 and representing under 17 in 2017 and 2018 he led the team

His first year in the first eleven was in 2014 and from time to time his coaches were Narada Palliyaguru and Shammi Hettiarachchi and Prefect of Games and Master in Charge are Sapumal Adikari and Sisira Premakumara respectively.

Last year he scored 946 runs and in 2017/18 he collected 476 runs and in 2016 and 2017 he passed the 300 run mark.

His first Big match was against Mahanama Panadura and played in two big matches. His Principal is Captain Wasantha Kumara and he is always helping to promote cricket in the school in all formats.
