657 navy personnel recovered from COVID-19

As of now, 657 naval personnel out of the total number of infected ones, have been discharged from hospitals after tested negative to COVID-19. Further, these discharged naval personnel were directed to keep under quarantine for another 14 days following the healthcare instructions, stated the Sri Lanka Navy.


Accordingly, thirty five (35) naval personnel infected with coronavirus and underwent treatment in hospital, were discharged from the hospital being tested negative to COVID-19, on 11th June 2020.

These naval personnel who were identified positive to coronavirus, had been admitted to hospitals. Out of these thirty five, 13 persons in Mulleriyawa hospital, 11 persons in Minuwangoda hospital, 07 persons in IDH hospital, 03 persons in Naval General Hospital and 01 person in Welikanda hospital, were under treatment. Since, these sailors found negative to COVID-19 on the reports of random PCR tests done under treatment, they were discharged on 11th June 2020.
