Construction of Port City public park fast tracked

The Urban Development, Water Supply and Housing Ministry has hastened the construction work of Colombo Port City’s public park with a view to opening the facility to the public in 2021, the Ministry said yesterday in a media release.

The public park consists of 35 acres and is being renovated to make it more attractive to the public, creating an environment where they can relax and have quality time with children.

The park is three times larger than the size of the Galle Face Green. An access road connecting Galle Face Green and Port City Public Park will be constructed allowing anyone to walk easily from one side to the other.

The Colombo Port City project is carried out under the directions of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
