The Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC), High Commission of India, Colombo, will be holding an online Hindustani vocal recital by Sangit Nipun, Shasthrapathi Asith Chanushka Atapattu on Friday, June 12, 2020 at 6.00 pm on SVCC, Colombo FACEBOOK page https://www.facebook.com/ICCRSriLanka. Sangit Nipun, Shasthrapathi Asith Chanushka Atapattu is working as a lecturer in Hindustani vocal music in the Department of North Indian Music, Faculty of Music at the University of the Visual and Performing Arts, Colombo.
He initially studied Hindustani vocal music under the guidance of Dr. Premadasa Mudunkotuwa. He obtained his Bachelor of Performing Arts Degree with a First Class in 2007 at Bhatkhande Music University, Lucknow, under the ICCR Scholarship.
In 2009, he obtained his Master of Music degree in Hindustani vocal music with the BHU Gold Medal. In 2013, he registered for his PhD Degree at Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan.
