NIID equipped with Tomography Scanning Unit

Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi opened a tomography scanning unit which has been built at a cost of Rs. 60 million at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases (NIID), Angoda yesterday, the Health Ministry Spokesman said.

The unit had been constructed by the Navy.

Minister Wanniarachchi said that having another hospital for treating infectious diseases is vital. She said COVID-19 in Sri Lanka has been controlled effectively because of the visionary leadership of the President.

Thirty more hospitals will be developed for COVID-19 patients. She lauded doctors, NIID health staff for their admirable services, while many other countries are struggling in controlling the virus.
