Investigation called for soldier’s suspicious death

An investigation has been called by Colombo Inquirer into Sudden Deaths Mohamed Ashraff into the suspicious death of a soldier at the Panagoda Army Camp. The soldier, Aluthgedara Dhanushka Kumara, 32-year-old resident of Ketakumbura, Kadugannawa, had died in this way at the camp recently.

Colombo Judicial Medical Officer S.P.A. Hewage conducted the inquest into the death. A brother of the deceased, Aluthgedera Jeewantha Pradeep, giving evidence at the inquest had told that his brother had visited his house on leave in March and had gone back to the Panagoda Army Camp after the vacation. He had told his wife that he was suffering from a headache, but informed her from the camp that he was well now. Pradeep further told that he was informed by the camp thereafter that his brother had died.

The inquest was postponed for June 17. Borella Police are investigating.
