An Army officer’s house in Kandana, Horana, three houses of his close associates and staff of four shops in Horana were quarantined on Saturday (30) after the officer tested positive for COVID 19. The officer had reportedly worked closely with Sri Lankans returning from overseas at the Katunayake International Airport.

He has come home on leave and reported back to work where he tested positive for coronavirus, Kalutara Regional Health Services Director Dr. Udaya Rathnayake said.

When the Army officer visited some shops in the vicinity, he had followed health guidelines. Nevertheless, the shops were closed as a precaution, Dr. Chanaka Mallikarachchi said.
