SC to decide on FR petitions tomorrow

The Supreme Court five-judge-bench headed by Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya today fixed for tomorrow (02) to announce whether it grants leave to proceed with eight Fundamental Rights petitions filed challenging dissolution of Parliament and holding the General Election on June 20.

Accordingly, Supreme Court would make an order determining whether it allows to proceed with these petitions or not, at 3:00 pm tomorrow (02).

The petitions were today taken up before Supreme Court five-judge-bench comprising Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya, Justices Buwaneka Aluwihare, Justice Sisira de Abrew, Justice Priyantha Jayawardena and Justice Vijith Malalgoda for tenth consecutive days.
