Another 143 curfew violators arrested

Police had arrested 143 people for violating the 6 hour curfew between 10 pm and 4 am on Thursday Night (28). Forty five vehicles were also seized by the Police.

Since March 20 until 4 am today (May 29), 66,662 individuals have been arrested and 18,778 vehicles taken into Police custody for violating curfew conditions.

Additionally, from May 18 till today (May 29), court cases have been filed against 22,591 individuals.

Meanwhile, during the 18 hour period from 4 am on Thursday, 168 individuals were arrested for failure to follow the mandatory health and safety guidelines which have been issued to control the spread of COVID-19.

Accordingly, Police had arrested 780 individuals since May 26 who failed to adhere to the health guidelines such as social distancing rules and not wearing a face mask.
