200 stranded Lankans arrive from Bangladesh

Several Sri Lankans who were stranded in Bangladesh due to the COVID-19 pandemic were flown down yesterday (24) morning by a Sri Lankan Airlines flight. According to reports, the Sri Lankan Airlines charter flight had brought back more than 200 Lankans yesterday morning at around 2 am.

The flight UL (1423) landed at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), and all passenger luggage were disinfected by Air Force personnel.

All health protocols were followed, and the passengers were later sent to off to quarantine centres by the Sri Lanka Army personnel. So far the national carrier had operated more than 20 flights to bring down stranded Lankans from various countries during the global pandemic.


Lankans returns from Bangladesh - [Update: 24.05.2020 11.19

A group of Lankans stranded in the Bangladesh were repatriated today in a special flight (UL 1423). The flight had 276 passengers and flight had arrived this morning at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA). The passengers followed health protocols and they will be sent to quarantine centres.
