In a remarkable turn of events in the Colombo Stock Exchange yesterday, a total of 11 million Hatton National Bank Shares were traded in 1155 transactions, market sources told the Daily News Finance yesterday.
The seller was believed to be the Aberdeen Fund and the major portion was purchased by NDB Wealth Management Ltd while there were other local and retail funds as well who purchased into HNB, The net foreign trading at the Colombo Stock Exchange yesterday were: Sampath Bank Rs. 13.1 Million, Keells Food Products Rs. 0.5 million, Watawala Plantations Rs. 0.2 million, Renuka Hotels Rs. 0.1 Million and Aitken Spence Rs. 0.1 million. Net Foreign Sales were HNB (N) Rs. 1096.9 million, Commercial Bank Rs. 41 million, HNB (X) Rs. 38.1 million, Com Bank ( N) Rs. 16.2 million and NDB Rs. 13.2 milion.
