New Mahaweli Ministry Secretary

Retired Major General Sumedha Perera has been appointed as Secretary to the Mahaweli Ministry. He has previously served as the Co-Chairman of the Task Force (TF) for Poverty Eradication and Livelihood Development. He was one of the pioneers of the Sri Lanka Army’s (SLA) Air Mobile Brigade and has commanded several infantry battalions. He was the former Military Spokesman for the Defence Ministry and the SLA’s Director Media. He once served as the Wanni Security Forces Commander.
