MRI Director states guidelines

Those who travel for work in public transport have been asked not to sit facing each other but facing one direction as a precaution to prevent COVID-19 infection, Medical Research Institute (MRI) Director Dr. Jayaruwan Bandara said.

Dr. Bandara said they should not sit facing each other in offices as well, but sit facing one direction keeping at least a metre from each other. “Use the elbow to open doors,” Dr. Bandara also said. Rugs sprayed with disinfectant liquids should be used in offices and the workers should avoid gathering inside departments, office canteens and other areas.

They should work, eat and have tea alone, Dr. Bandara said.

The majority of the responsibility goes to the people when it comes to preventing COVID-19. Therefore, they should always act responsibly, he added.
