660 curfew violators nabbed in 24 hours

During the 24 hour period ending at 6.00 am today (20), the police had arrested 660 curfew violators. In addition, 256 vehicles had been taken into police custody during this 24 hour period, according to the Police Media unit.
 
From March 20th to 6.00 am today (20), the police had arrested 60,425 persons over curfew violations and taken 16,924 vehicles into police custody.
 
From March 18th until today, the police had filed charges against 17,193 persons for various curfew violations and 6,480 persons had been charged so far.
 
Meanwhile, DIG Ajith Rohana warned that the law will be strictly enforced against anyone who intentionally violates curfew regulations.
