Nearly 450 recover from Coronavirus

As of last evening (14) one more person who had maintained close contact with an infected Navy person had tested positive for the Coronavirus. Accordingly, the total number of infections rose to 916 by 4.30 pm yesterday, according to Health Ministry sources.

Meanwhile, 63 persons who tested positive and were being treated as various hospitals were discharged yesterday after making a full recovery. Another 462 persons infected with the Coronavirus are still receiving treatment at various hospitals.

According to the Epidemiology Unit statistics, 445 persons who were infected had so far made a full recovery and have been released from hospitals. On Wednesday, there were 26 persons who had tested positive, while majority are those at the Welisara Navy Camp.

As of yesterday (14) 465 Navy personnel had tested positive for the Coronavirus and out of them 121 persons had made a complete recovery and had been discharged from hospital. Currently, there are 344 Navy personnel under treatment.

So far 8,846 persons who had completed the quarantine procedure at the Tri-Forces operated quarantine centres had returned to their homes.

Currently, there are another 2987 persons in quarantine at 37 tri forces operated quarantine centres.

Another 686 persons who had completed their quarantine procedure by yesterday and were released to return to their homes after undergoing the PCR test.
