Liquor stores open in non-curfew areas

The Department of Excise today (13) announced that Taverns and bars are open in non-curfew areas.

According to the Department, liquor stores at supermarkets in Colombo and Gampaha districts were allowed to resume sales and permission was given to wholesale liquor license owners to operate during non-curfew hours.

In the Colombo and Gampaha districts where the curfew is in force, supermarkets with license were permitted to operate their liquor stores.

The Excise Department added that however, bars in hotels, pubs and restaurants have not been permitted to re-open.

Liquor stores, bars and taverns were forced to halt operations after curfew was imposed due to the Covid-19 virus in Sri Lanka.
