Wash hands or sanitize before fingerprint machine use

All office workers should wash their hands with soap for 20 seconds or use a sanitizer before placing their finger in the Finger Print Machine which records the arrival and departure times in offices, Medical Research Institute (MRI) Director Dr. Jayaruwan Bandara said.

According to Dr. Bandara the employees should clean their pens, computer mouse, computer keyboard etc. before starting the day's work in the morning. Using hand sanitizer is recommended before getting on the car/vehicle and before getting off the car/vehicle.

Dr. Bandara pointed out that among the current COVID-19 patients, there are only around 200 civilians and all the others are from Sri Lanka Navy. They are well disciplined and there is no possibility to spread COVID-19 from them. But if the public ignore health guidelines given by the Government the entire country will be in danger, he said

The public should strictly follow all health guidelines issued such as washing hands with soap for 20 seconds, wearing a mask properly without touching it once worn, keeping a maximum distance of one meter or more from another person all the time in order to prevent COVID-19, he added.
