Strictly follow health guidelines at all times – DGHS

The Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine Ministry has already sent the relevant guidelines in connection with operating offices and all the other state and private institutions for preventing COVID-19 threat. The document can be downloaded from www.health.gov.lk, Health Services Director General Dr. Anil Jasinghe told the Daily News.

According to Dr. Jasinghe the document contains all the details required to open and operate all state and private institutions in the country such as offices, departments, supermarkets, restaurants, eateries, economic centres, universities, public transport service, manufacturing industry, hospitality industry, etc. while preventing COVID-19 infection.

Dr. Jasinghe pointed out that guidelines for all the other institutions including salons which not included in the document will be issued shortly after holding discussions with relevant stakeholders. Salons can open after obtaining the guidelines, make relevant changes, meet the check list and obtain the permission from the relevant PHI of the area. Sri Lankans should learn and adopt the `New Lifestyle' when the country opens because COVID-19 will stay in Sri Lanka for some more time and it will stay in the world for a long time. The only way of containing it is strictly following all health guidelines issued to the people by the Government. COVID-19 infection can be prevented only through following an accurate lifestyle.
