The Constitutional Council (CC) is scheduled to convene on the 23rd of April 2020 at the Speakers Residence under the patronage of former Speaker of the 8th Parliament and Chairman of the CC Karu Jayasuriya.
Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, former Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa and other members of the Constitutional Council are scheduled to attend the meeting.
Parliamentary sources said the meeting is to be held to discuss the affairs of Independent Commissions including the National Election Commission and the current situation in the country.
