Thundershowers expected in most parts of the island

There is a high possibility for afternoon thundershowers with severe lightning over most parts of the island during next few days, said the Department of Meteorology. 

 

General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity and localized strong winds during thundershowers.

 

Showers or thundershowers will occur over the most places of the island in the evening or night.

 

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces during the morning.

 

On the apparent northward relative motion of the sun, it is going to be directly over the latitudes of Sri Lanka during 05th to 14th of April in this year.

 

The nearest areas of Sri Lanka over which the sun is overhead tomorrow (13th), are Thekampuddi, Vellankulam, Uyilankulam and Kachchilamadu at about 12:11 noon.
