Tri-forces to entertain people confined to their homes during curfew

The Army, Navy, Air Force and Police will launch a programme to entertain people confined to their homes due to the curfew in place to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus by staging musical programmes, said Army Commander Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva.

Especially people living in apartment buildings have no way of stepping out and these musical programmes are aimed at providing them some mental satisfaction.

Accordingly, the Sri Lanka Army Band will perform at the Havelock Town apartment complex in Bambalapitiya today (05).

In the Rajagiriya area as well such a musical programme has been planned for this evening.

However, the Army Commander appealed to the public to remain in their apartments and enjoy the musical show.

Lt. Gen. Silva noted that the Army is a humanitarian force and said that their main aim is to get the people through this difficult time.

The Army Commander said this expressing his views to the media this morning (05).
