Over 10,000 arrested for violating curfew

The police had arrested 305 people for having violated the curfew between 12.00 noon and 6.00 pm yesterday. They had also taken 77 vehicles into custody, the Police Media Division stated.

From 6.00 am to 12.00 noon the police had arrested 268 curfew violators and taken into their custody 80 vehicles used by them.

Accordingly, within the day the police had arrested 573 persons who had violated the curfew orders. Since the curfew was imposed from 20th of March  to 6.00 pm yesterday (April 2) the police have arrested 10,039 persons who had violated the curfew regulations. The police had also taken into their custody 2,489 vehicles during this period.
