A special operations centre has been established at the Excise Department to entertain public complaints which could be accessed on their hotline 1913.
Excise Department Deputy Commissioner Kapila Kumarasinghe issuing a statement noted that as per the directions of the Presidential Secretariat, all liquor shops should remain closed during the temporary lifting of the curfew.
Therefore, Excise Commissioner General Ariyadasa Bodaragama has notified all liquor licence holders to comply with this directive which has been implemented to stop the fast-spreading Coronavirus in the country.
He warned that strict legal action would be taken against those who fail to follow this directive.
If the public has any complaints regarding those who do not follow this directive, they are requested to notify the special operations centre of the Excise Department on their hotline 1913.
