Over 500 registered at Kalutara, Panadura police stations

Pursuant to the government notification to people who have migrated from overseas to register at the nearest police station, 287 persons have registered at the police stations in the Kalutara police division and 257 persons have registered at the police stations in the Panadura police division, on March 17, DIG in charge of Kalutara district, Vijitha Gunaratne said.

The DIG said that after submission of all such information to the Medical Health Officers of the respective areas, they will be handed over to the public health inspectors.

Also, a sticker is affixed on the homes of those who have returned to the country from the March 1 to March 15 from high-risk countries and are self-quarantining at home.

Police have the power to act under the Disease Suppression and Prevention Act No. 3 of 1987, against those who remove it, DIG Gunaratne said.
