Health workers: In the forefront in the battle against COVID-19

The brave men and women of the health service have been working tirelessly ever since the COVID-19 pandemic broke out in January. The staff at IDH, which handles the bulk of the COVID-19 cases in the country, have been working round the clock. Several patients admitted there have now made a full recovery, thanks to the unceasing care and attention of the medical and non-medical staff.

A similar story has emerged from the 11 other hospitals, quarantine centres and other health facilities caring for coronavirus patients and suspected cases. The Security Forces have been working jointly with the health staff 24/7 to contain the outbreak.

The health authorities have provided them with full HAZMAT and Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) suits, as the case may be, in order to ensure that they stay safe.

They undergo a through sanitization process before and after their shift to ensure their health and safety and that of fellow health workers and the public. Even as the national health systems of many developed countries are struggling to cope with the disease, our healthcare system and personnel have proved that they are second to none in the world.

The nation owes them much gratitude for their selfless commitment in the face of danger.
