Public requested not to visit historic sites

The Buddhasasana, Cultural, and Religious Affairs Ministry has requested all Sri Lankans not to visit any historic sites during these special holidays. Furthermore, all tourist agencies and tourist guides in the country are requested not to accompany foreign tourists to such sites as well.

This was mentioned by the ministry’s secretary, K. Bandula Harischandra, in a communiqué that was released yesterday.

Harischandra has also stated that those working at such sites had told the government that there were difficulties in keeping the sites open for tourists amidst the prevailing Coronavirus outbreak.
