Jaffna Airport closed for Int’l flights

The Palali International Airport in Jaffna would only be closed for International traffic, an official from the Airport and Aviation Services (AASL) told the ‘Daily News Finance,’ yesterday.

The decision has been taken by Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Ltd., due to the spread of Coronavirus, while the decision only applies to Indian flights arriving to Palali from Chennai.

However, domestic carriers are permitted to operate to and from Jaffna.

Meanwhile an official from Sri Lanka’s domestic airline operator, Fits Air, said that they would have the Ratmalana - Palali flights as scheduled.

“We are carrying out our scheduled flights every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, while a decision had not been taken to curtail the frequency or not to.” (RL)
