Disinfecting of BIA begins

Airport and Aviation Services Chairman G.A. Chandrasiri said that the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) would not be closed due to the outbreak of coronavirus in the country.

Speaking to the media at the BIA, he said that all passengers arriving in the country would be subjected to a quarantine procedure.

He noted that the Sri Lanka Air Force and the BIA staff were engaged in disinfecting the BIA premises and its surroundings to prevent the spread of coronavirus. This programme of sanitization would be repeated once in three days, he added.
