‘COVID-19: Are We Prepared?’ interactive webinar today

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce is to conduct an interactive webinar titled 'COVID-19, Are We Prepared?', today at 2:00 pm. This is in wake of the increasing number of cases of the disease in Sri Lanka, and is a programme to prepare members of the private sector. This was mentioned in a press release issued by the Chamber, yesterday.

It is also in line with the Ceylon Chamber’s initiatives to tackle how COVID-19 affects industries and businesses in Sri Lanka. The Chamber has been speaking to leaders in the pharmaceutical, tourism, apparel, and import sectors on the disruptions faced in their operations, and will begin addressing how industries can tackle challenges in the current environment.

The webinar is conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, the World Health Organisation (WHO), and Rotary International Sri Lanka. It will focus on how to deal with COVID-19 in the workplace.

Speakers at the interactive session include Deputy Director-General of Public Health Services, Dr. Paba Palihawadane; Consultant Physician at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases, Dr. Ananada Wijewickrama; Director of the Health Promotion Bureau, Dr. Palitha Karunapema; Representative of WHO, Dr. Razia Pendse; National Professional Officer of Emergency Risk Management at WHO, Dr. Sapumal Dhanapala; and CEO/Secretary General of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Manjula de Silva.

Past President of Rotary International, Mr. K.R. Ravindran, will moderate the event. Livestream registrations will be on a 'first-come, first-served basis', and is exclusive for members of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.
