Zoos, national parks, botanical gardens closed for two weeks

The zoological gardens, botanical gardens and national parks under the purview of the Wildlife Department are to be closed for the next two weeks, in view of the outbreak of coronavirus in the country, the Government Information Department said in a media release.

Accordingly, the Dehiwala National Zoo, Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, Pinnawala Zoo and Ridyagama Safari Park under the Department of National Zoological Gardens will remain closed from today.

The Department of Government Information announced that this measure will be in effect from today (16) to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
