Southern schools, Ruhunu Uni Engineering Faculty receive musical instruments

Consulate General of India, Hambantota presented 104 Indian classical musical instruments worth Rs. 3,219,020 received from ICCR, New Delhi to several schools and to the Faculty of Engineering, University of Ruhuna, Matara in the Southern Province on March 7. The instruments included Sitar, Tabla, Sarod and Tanpuraetc among others.

Richmond College, Siridhamma College and Anuladevi College. In Galle and Beverly Tamil School, Deniyaya; Hulandawa Tamil Maha Vidyalaya, Piatabaddara; Handford Tamil Maha Vidyalaya, Deniyaya and St. Matthew's Bilingual School, Deniyaya from Matara received the instruments. The instruments were presented to the principals by Shri Prem Kumar Nair, the Consul General of India, Hambantota. The principals, teachers and students deeply appreciated the deed.
