Walk for Rahula 2020:

Bonds of brotherhood

Matara city donned blue and gold once again as ‘Walk for Rahula 2020’ paraded on the streets on March 7 showcasing the strength of brotherhood and the rich heritage of one of Sri Lanka’s most prominent educational institutions, Rahula College, Matara.

The annual event was organized by the Rahula College Old Boys’ Association in collaboration with the school principal, staff, students and well-wishers. It has gone from strength to strength over the years as more and more enthusiastic Rahula boys took part in the event. The parade started in the afternoon from the school premises and paraded through Matara town to Sanath Jayasuriya grounds on Galle road where it concluded with a mega musical show.

The Rahula Walk has become the most looked forward to annual event among the Old Boys since its inception in 1995. Overcoming a few barriers this year the sixth edition of the parade finally took shape. The event is a fund raiser for the Rahula Old Boys’ Association and the proceedings will be used for various school development activities and extra curricular projects.
