Reshan reaches 1000-run milestone

Reshan Malith Fernando of St. John's College, Panadura reached the 1000-run milestone in the ongoing Singer under-19 Division II cricket tournament conducted by the Sri Lanka Schools' Cricket Association. Reshan has accumulated 1000 runs in 13 matches and playing in 24 innings.

He has maintained a batting average of 43.52 in the present season. His best performance came against Galahitiyawa Central College with a superb 129 knock.

Reshan has scored three centuries and four fifties in this season and proved to be a batting stalwart in his team. He also played a gritty role in the match against Kalutara Vidyalaya scoring an unbeaten 123 runs in the second innings following a 76-run knock in the first innings.

He scored his third ton (103 runs) against Tholangamuwa Central College.

Reshan who took up to cricket as an under-13 lad represented the school team as the skipper in U13, U-15 and U-17 age categories. His batting excellence as a junior cricketer has offered him the opportunity to play for the under-19 team during the last three years. He has shown great promise through out his cricketing career and always has been an asset to his team.
