Adhishtana Pooja to ward off coronavirus

An Adhishtana Pooja organized by the Sri Lankan Buddhist monks domiciled in Italy, Germany, Japan and South America to invoke blessings of the Gods to drive away the coronavirus from Sri Lankan soil and from the face of the Earth will take place at the Natha Devale in the premises of Sri Dalada Maligawa, Kandy on Saturday March 14, at 4.00 p.m. The event is coordinated by Ven.Asgiriye Gedige Rajamaha Viharavaasi Ven.Komarike Rahula Thera and veteran journalist Dharma Sri Thilakarathne.

The group of Buddhist monks led by Sri Lankan Buddhists monks domiciled in Italy and Germany will be in Sri Lanka shortly. The group includes Ven. Walgama Muninanda Thera, the Chief Sanganayaka of New Zealand in collaboration with Ven. Polwatte Pannanada Thera, Chief Sanganayaka South America and Ven. Dr. Rathmale Punyarathana Thera, Senior Lecturer at the German University. The other venerable monks due to be present at the Adhistana Pooja includes Ven. Wagegoda Seelananda Thera - Italy ; Ven. Menerapitiye Wimalarathana Thera, Maithri Viharaya - Medona, Italy; Ven. Badalkumbure Dhammasiri Thera, Dhamma Nikethanaya - Milano, Italy; Ven.Pujapitiye Santhusitha Thera,Verona Maha Viharaya - Italy; Ven.Katuwana Siddhaththa Thera, Shakyamuni Viharaya, Rome,Italy; Ven. Kirinde Gnanarathana Thera of Denmark; Ven.Naravila Vijithwansa Chief Sanga Nayaka of Japan and Ven. Yatamalagala Sumanasara Thera, Religious Advisor, Qing Liang Vihara, Singapore.
