Lankans rush back to Saudi before deadline

With the Saudi government giving a deadline to its nationals to return home from Covid-19 infected countries, Sri Lankan workers who have come on work or holiday are rushing back to the Kingdom, lest they do not get a chance to go back to their workplaces.

With the detection of a Sri Lankan patient who tested positive for Covid-19, Sri Lanka has become one of the countries affected by the virus. The Kingdom said that the airlines will not charge extra fees for re-scheduling of travel dates.

SriLankan Airlines has stopped its flights to Jeddah and has announced that flights will resume after April 30. Passengers who have bought SriLankan Airlines tickets to Jeddah can have their tickets endorsed to Saudi Arabian Airlines.
