People should render their unstinted cooperation and support to the government in its efforts to save the country from the coronavirus (Covid-19) threat, Lekakadhikari of the Asgiriya Chapter of the Siyam Maha Nikaya Ven. Medagama Dhammananda Nayake Thera said.
He said several lakhs of people have been affected by this virus in over 100 countries, causing a death toll of nearly 4,000. Even the most powerful countries in the world have been affected by this virus. The government cannot prevent the spread of the virus without the support of the public.
Ven. Dhammananda Thera said people arriving here from foreign countries in particular should abide by the advice given by the Health Ministry. They should bear up any difficulties caused during the quarantine process for the sake of the overall benefit of the public.
Ven. Dhammananda Thera said all should rally round to overcome this danger without trying to take any political or other personal advantage at a time when the country is posed with this danger.
