After her big Bollywood debut with ‘Dhadak’ co-starring Ishaan Khatter, there has been no looking back for Janhvi Kapoor. The young actress has her hands full with some very interesting projects.
She is currently gearing up for her next, ‘Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl’. Janhvi has been shooting for this film for quite a while now. Speaking about the film, she reportedly said that she feels like ‘Gunjan Saxena’ is her first film as the jitters she had during her debut film has reappeared. She also added that this is also because the level of investment in the film is abnormally high as she got on board at such a nascent stage.
Elaborating further, she added that after working with experienced filmmakers like Shashank Khaitan and Zoya Akhtar, working with a debut director’s vision was a refreshing experience. Talking about the director, she stated that some directors explain the arc of the character and the intention of the scene to you. They tell you exactly what you’re supposed to feel before and after the scene. However, what Sharma did was create and nurture an environment where she could discover the character for herself.
The actress also feels that playing a character like Gunjan Saxena has not been easy. According to her, she looks at each character beyond what they’ve been written out to be. For her, each character is a real person with real experiences, and in that sense, every film is a biopic.
