Over 207,500 foreign tourists visited Sri Lanka last month – SLTDA

The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) said 207,507 foreign tourists have arrived in Sri Lanka in February. Their visits have now increased again after the bomb blasts last year.

Sri Lanka will attract over 2.5 million tourists by the end of this year, SLTDA said. ‘Lonely Planet’ has labelled Sri Lanka as the World's Best Travel Destination this year,” the SLTDA said. With Lonely Planet announcing Sri Lanka as the best travel destination for the past 13 years, the number of foreign tourists to Sri Lanka has increased manifold. Tangalle, Ella, Anuradapura, and Kandy are among the best tourist attractions in Sri Lanaka. The Udawalawe National Park is among the best wildlife zones in the East Asia. However, in February 2019, 252,033 foreign tourists arrived in Sri Lanka, a 17.7 per cent decline compared to last year.
