A splendid knock of 05 runs by T Vinojan of St Johns’ College Jaffna was of no avail as their inter-school first eleven cricket match against St. Anthony’s College Wattala ended in a draw at Jaffna. However Wattala Anthonians were able to have a lead of 59 runs in the first essay.
Vinojan hit sixteen boundries and occupied the crease for 185 minutes and faced 172 balls. Also he was associated in a third wicket partnership of 131 runs with Nsaumyan who scored 64 runs.
Batting first Jaffna Johnians scored 183 runs and T Dinoshan was unlucky to miss a well deserved century by nine runs and in reply visitors scored 242 runs with Dinuk Vishal and Sandun Madushanka scoring 87 and 51 runs respectively.
