A former member of the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL), Ambika Sathkunanadan has been included in the nomination list of the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) for the Jaffna district.
However, according to TNA sources Sathkunanadan has not given her consent yet to contest the polls and is said to be comtemplating the matter.
Sathkunanadan had tendered her resignation as a HRCSL member effective from last Saturday.
Afterwards she is said to have joined the ITAK, the main party in the TNA and received her membership from ITAK leader Mavai Senathirajah.
According to TNA sources, the party’s nominations for Jaffna has been finalised. In addition to Sathkunanadan, the following members have been included to contest the Jaffna district under TNA: Mavai Senathiraja, M.A. Sumanthiran, E. Saravanabhavan, S. Shridaran, A. Devendram, D. Siddharthan, P. Gajatheepan, Gurusami Surendran and Sashikala Raviraj.
