CMA to conduct seminar on recent tax reforms

The Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka (CMA) will conduct a seminar on ‘Comprehensive and in-depth Analysis of Recent Tax Reforms with Practical Applications’on Friday, March 13, 2020 from 8.30am – 12.30 pm at the Taj Samudra. The focus of the seminar will highlight the important aspects of the recent tax reforms.

The welcome address will be delivered by the President of CMA – Sri Lanka, Prof. Lakshman R. Watawala and the seminar will be conducted by Tax Consultant /Senior Partner of Amerasekera & Co, Chartered Accountants, K. Sivanesan. In his presentations he will analyse the changes in Income Tax (including individual taxation), Value added Tax (VAT), Nation Building Tax (NBT), Economic Service Charge (ESC) and Debt Repayment Levy (DRL).

After his presentation there will be a panel discussion which will be moderated by Suresh Perera,Principal – Tax & Regulatory, KPMG and the panelists are Nisreen Rehmanjee, Executive Vice President, Head of Corporate Finance, Group Tax and Social Entrepreneurship, John Keells Holdings PLC, Nishtar Sulaiman, Partner, Ernst & Young, N.R. Gajendran, Senior Partner, Gajma& Co. and Mr. GanakaAmarasinghe, Managing Director, Raigam Marketing Services (Pvt) Ltd

Participants will also have an opportunity to obtain clarifications and direct questions to the speaker and panelists.
