Four hundred schools at INNOTECH 2020

Over 1200 inventions from 400 schools including schools from the Northern and Eastern Provinces will be exhibited at the INNOTECH 2020 exhibition from March 11 to 14 at the technology hub in Pitipana, Homagama.

The exhibition which will be open to the public with no entrance fee levied from 9am onwards.

Explaining the goal of INNOTECH 2020, Higher Education, Technology and Innovation Minister Dr. Bandula Gunawardena said that their main intention is to highlight the research and development outcomes and inventions of the institutes and universities operating under the ministry’s jurisdiction and to promote science literacy at all levels of society. The show will also serve as a forum for schools and university students, tertiary and higher education institutions to popularize their innovations and generate interest among the younger generation for participating in research and launching start-ups based on new technologies and innovation.

The Minister also said they hoped to continue the exhibition annually and any income will be used to improve the Mahapola Scholarship Fund.
